The origin of bitterness.

Wormwood not for consumption

In the natural wormwood plant derives from the Absinthium plant family. Wormwood is also known as Artemisia Absinthium. This plant is very bitter and is not used for consumption due to its poison-like characteristic. Some garners use wormwood mixed with other ingredients to create pesticides. Wormwood a celestial entity in the spiritual realm, is used to sow bitterness in the hearts of believers. Wormwood in the spirit is used as a judgment (Rev 8:11-13, Amos 5:7 NKJV), demonic power sown as a root (Deuteronomy 29:18NKJV) in your heart. Bitterness can be used as a weapon of warfare against the soul. The weapon of bitterness is sown by the evil one during traumatic experiences. Psychologist explains bitterness to be an emotional state, that is birthed through events an individual feels was grossly unfair and feels hopeless to change. When an individual experience a heart wrenching event, that create an emotional bomb of anger, fear, sadness and hopelessness, that person becomes embittered. Naomi in the book of Ruth in the bible, experienced the death of her husband and two sons, changed her name to "Mara" bitter (Ruth 1:20 ESV). Bitterness can have a lasting effect. An individual in the state of bitterness from a divorce, loss of a loved one, infidelity, abuse, abandonment to name a few, can linger in hatred, and unforgiveness. This seed, when sown, the evil one can use to keep you in a state of unforgiveness, toxic regret, the victimize mentality. The evil one can use this to sow doubt in God's provisional love for your life. The evil one can use wormwood(bitterness) to prevent you from praying in faith and power, completely disrupting your walk with The Lord. The seed of wormwood will place you in an endless cycle of self-sabotaging behavior. The seed of wormwood will cause you to question God's justice and love. However, I bring you hope today. The love of Jesus Christ. (1 John4:18 ESV). I encourage you to remember God has a plan for your life the enemy cannot destroy (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV). God can use what the enemy meant to destroy you to create greatness in your entire blood line and save generations after you. (Genesis 50:19-21 ESV). Naomi's loss though tragic, was used as the vehicle that would set them in the path back to Bethlehem, were Naomi's daughter in law Ruth would meet a rich man named Boaz, that would place them in the blood line of our savior Jesus Christ. (Matthew 1:5 ESV). The only way you can uproot and destroy the seed of wormwood(bitterness) is to trust in God's love and plan for you. You must believe that God will turn all that the enemy intend for evil for your good to the glory of His name. You must believe in the mercies of God. (Lamentation 3:22 ESV). Tear down the negative thoughts of the enemy and replace them with the word of God. (Philippians 4:8 ESV). Remember God will never leave you or forsake you. Although man have rejected you, God has chosen you. (1 Peter 3:5, Deuteronomy 31:8). Your only weapon against wormwood is forgiveness. Forgiveness of yourself and others. Forgiveness is only possible when you learn to trust God's love for you and God's sovereignty in the process.
