Ice Cube Technique

How to avoid an emotional meltdown
How to avoid an emotional meltdown
  1. Take an ice cube and place in the middle of your palms, hold firm until hands go numb or ice melts (tissue damage is not likely in uncompromised skin tissue).

  2. Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth, with an even pace beat.

What should happen with the above exercise, your brain going to be so focused on the manipulations of your nerves, that you will de-escalate in emotional reaction causing you less likely to react to your emotional triggers.

This technique will also cause the brain to stimulate the production of beta-endorphin that aid in pain management and stress relief to calm you down and regulate your emotions. (Endorphins: What They Are and How to Boost Them).

Remember one of the best ways to avoid an emotional melt down is to pray and meditate on the word of God. (Philippians 4:6 NIV)

*The above technique is not meant to treat and/or diagnose any illness*
