Self-perception is powerful. In the book of proverb chapter 23 verse seven, it is written, "for as he thinks in his heart, so is he". Your thoughts have the power to create your reality. Psychologist have identified, everyone grows up with what they coin, Schemas. A schema is how individuals view themselves based on their roles as children. (What Is a Schema in Psychology?). There are one of four roles' children adopt, based on their upbringing, that shapes their roles as adults. There are, Clown (controls their environment through comedy); hero (seek relevance through helping, even without request); victim (seeks to be rescued, often feels targeted, the world is against them); and villain (Acts out of fear of failure or pain. Hurt people hurt people). You can Challange those schemas with the word of God. God calls us to renew (rewire aka neuroplasticity) our minds, by the reading of His words. (Romans 12:2 NKJV). When you begin to read God's word, you will see yourself how God sees you. Throughout the bible God speak to our character, affirming, who we are in Him. (1 Peter 2:9NKJV). You are not defined by your pass and/or your childhood traumas (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you no longer want to go through life thinking you are a clown, victim, hero, or villain, open your heart to Jesus and mind to His word. (Revelation 3:20 NKJV). Surrender your pain to God and watch Him renew you. (Isaiah 61:3 NKJV). I dare you challenge your schemas, with the word of God!
Be blessed.
