Balm of Gilead

     We believe those who exercise faith can be healed from any health issue.

Jesus is referred to as the Balm in Gilead. In the book of Jeremiah 8:22 we read of the prophet Jeremiah seeing Isreal destitute, without hope (emotionally unhealthy) asked for the healing Balm and a Physician.

Balm is a plant that grows in the city of Gilead which is now modern-day Jordan. Balm plant contains a myrrh like substance that is used in medicine. Balm plants found in Gilead is used for inflammation. In Genesis 37:25 the Ishmaelites carried the healing Balm into Egypt, as a gift. Tonight, I tell you THE balm of Gilead is here. Jesus our gift from God, is our source for healing!! Amen.

Why do people get sick and what are some root causes of human sickness:

Man, by God's original design, was formed to be with an immortal body. God's Spirit within them connected with their eternally alive Soul. This is why God breathed into man the spirit of life. To make them a living soul in Genesis chapter 2 verse 7.

Our Tripartite state of being:

Body, this interacts with the environment. The physical part of man.

Soul, this interacts with others. This is where life stems from your thoughts, emotions and will. The middle point of man. Material and immaterial substances of man’s building blocks.

Spirit. The spirit is our innermost part, connecting us with God. Led by the Holy Spirit, as referenced in Romans 8:16, our spirit links us to the source of life.

Our contaminated body feeds into our souls and blocks the influence of our spirit. Sin acts as an inhibitor to the move of the spirit. This also blocks your connection to the living source of life and health. Allowing sickness to have power over our body and souls. Susceptible to Physical illness, emotional and mental illness.

After we receive Jesus into our lives as our Lord and Savior and we are born again. We now identify with Christ. We operate from the inside out. Our spirit influences our soul, and our soul expresses what it receives from our spirit through our body. The Spirit of God now inhibits sin, sickness and disease from having influence over our body and our soul.

John 5:24 Most assuredly, I say to you. He who hears my words and believes in him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

 This scripture lets us know that we as believers have eternal life and I know no believer in here doubts the word of the Lord that if he believes In his heart that Jesus is Lord and has confessed this with his mouth that He is saved. Not one of you here doubts that.

Many believers will accept Christ promise of eternal life. But doubt the promise of God for their Physical, emotional and mental life.

The same Christ that gives you eternal life in John. Chapter 5. Verse 24. Assure you. You are healed. Psalm 107:20 “God sent out his words and healed them and rescued them from the grave”. That means even if you are in hospice or palliative care it is not too late for God to heal you. If you believe.

A question some ask when they get sick is, do you think it is Gods will for me to be healed? Do you know if it was not God’s will for you to be healed it would be wrong even to seek recovery from modern medicine? Saints’ physical health is part of salvation! In Matthew 8:3 the Leper asked that same question to Jesus. Jesus answer to him it is my will.

The Bible reveals the will of God regarding the healing of the body as clearly as it reveals the will of God regarding regeneration of the Spirit.

God's promises to heal are as much a Revelation of His will to heal. As his promise to save is a revelation of His will to save.

God is both the healer. And the savior of his people. That is always His will to save and to heal all those who believe in Him. 

What can hinder your healing?

Unregenerated spirit. First thing you have to do to be healed is to connect to the source of life. Jesus. Do you not know Jesus? You heard God can heal and if you believe, you will receive.

Sin/unforgiveness:

Some scriptures make a connection between sin and illness. For example, in Matthew 9:1-8, Jesus heals a paralyzed man after stating that his sins are forgiven. Similarly, in Mark 2:1-12, healing is associated with the forgiveness of sin. These passages also suggest that issues such as the need to forgive others may have an impact on well-being, as holding onto resentment or an unforgiving attitude can affect one's health. 2 Chronicles 7:14, Jehovah Rapha, stated, if his people repent, he will heal the land.

·       Pray for forgiveness and forgiveness.

Doubt: Jesus Can only heal you if you believe in Matthew's Chapter 9 verse 27 to 29 Tells of a blind man who comes to Jesus for healing. Jesus asked them. Do you believe that I can do this? The blind man answered. Yes, Lord. Then Jesus touched his eyes, saying, according to your faith, let it be done to you.

Healing depends on your faith, regardless of time or the nature of your illness. Whether you have suffered for 38 years like the man at Bethesda, 18 yrs like the woman in the synagogue, or 12 yrs like the woman with chronic bleeding, all conditions—acute or chronic—can be healed if you believe.

Jesus rebuked a fever! Luke 4: 39-41 ESV

The woman with the issue of blood had faith if she touched Jesus, she would be healed. Jesus touched the dead daughter of the parents believing in him, and the young girl was healed and was brought back to life. The Centurion man believed and only needed a word from Jesus. And his servant was healed. So tonight, whether you want God to touch you, or whether you want to stretch out your faith and touch God, or whether you just want a word of healing from God, you can receive healing if you believe.

Occult/generational curse/demonic influence:

Luke 4:39 some were healed by casting out of demons.

  Prayer of renunciation

Do not focus on the symptoms of your illness; instead, look to Jesus and continue to believe in your healing. In Numbers 21:4-9, Moses encouraged the children of Israel not to dwell on the symptoms of their snake bites but to focus on their remedy. Likewise, today we should not fixate on the symptoms of our sins and diseases but on our remedy, Christ. Just as their curse was lifted through the type of Christ, our curse was removed through Christ himself. As written in Isaiah 53:5, "By his stripes, we are healed." Believe it.
